2024 Black Play Therapy Symposium: Healing Trauma Through Ancestral Roots

Please carefully read the following terms and conditions (“Terms”) before registering for and participating in the 2024 Black Play Therapy Symposium (the “Symposium”) hosted by The Black Play Therapy Society (the “Symposium Organizer”). By registering for and attending the Symposium, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

1. Registration and Payment:

Registration is required to attend the Symposium. Payment of the registration fee is due upon registration. Details about registration fees, deadlines, and payment methods are available on the Symposium website.

2. Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Symposium Organizer. Refunds will be provided according to the Symposium’s cancellation policy, as specified on the Symposium website. Refund requests must adhere to the stated deadlines.

3. Substitution Policy:

Substitutions of registered attendees may be allowed but must be requested in writing to hello@blackplaytherapy.com and approved by the Symposium Organizer. The substitute attendee must meet all registration requirements.

4. Code of Conduct:

All Symposium attendees are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, disruptive behavior, or any inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Attendees must adhere to the Symposium’s Code of Conduct.

5. Photography and Recording:

Attendees acknowledge and agree that the Symposium Organizer may record, photograph, or capture their image, voice, or likeness in audio and/or video format during the Symposium. The Symposium Organizer may use these recordings for promotional, educational, or other lawful purposes, as outlined in the Video/Audio Recording Release Statement on the Symposium website.

6. Liability Disclaimer:

The Symposium Organizer and its affiliates shall not be held liable for any loss, injury, damage, or theft of personal property incurred by attendees during the Symposium. Attendees are responsible for their own well-being and belongings.

7. Force Majeure:

The Symposium Organizer shall not be responsible for delays, cancellations, or disruptions of the Symposium due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of nature, war, civil unrest, labor strikes, or government regulations.

8. Changes to Event:

The Symposium Organizer reserves the right to make changes to the Symposium schedule, program, speakers, or venue as necessary. Updated information will be posted on the Symposium website, and attendees will be notified of significant changes.

9. Event Access:

Attendees must adhere to all access requirements and security measures put in place by the Symposium Organizer, including badge checks and identity verification.

10. Intellectual Property

The Symposium Organizer and presenters own all rights to Symposium materials, presentations, and content. Attendees may not reproduce, distribute, or share these materials without written permission.

11. Privacy and Data Use:

Attendees’ personal data will be collected and used in accordance with the Privacy Policy published on the Symposium website.

12. Networking and Engagement:

Attendees are encouraged to engage in networking and educational opportunities provided during the Symposium. The Symposium Organizer may provide guidelines and instructions for networking activities.

13. Applicable Law:

These Terms shall be governed by and construed under the laws of Virginia.

15. Acceptance of Terms:

By registering for and attending the 2024 Black Play Therapy Symposium: Healing Trauma Through Ancestral Roots, Attendees acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
